We're a small family run homestead near Amarillo, TX. It's our passion to share our critters, especially baby chicks and chickens, and help others learn with us! From day old chicks to learning proper chicken husbandry, we're here to help you where ever you are on your journey.

Our Breeding Stock

Free Range

At Rockin K Homestead Farm, we believe in sustainable farming practices that prioritize the health of our soil and the well-being of our animals. One of our practices is letting our flock free range meaning they aren't kept confined to cages.

Chick Breeds

We offer a wide range of day old chicks, baby chicks, and pullets at Rockin K Homestead Farm in Amarillo, all coming from pure breeds commonly known and sourced from the best breeders around. Utilizing a free range set up, all of our baby chicks and hatching eggs have a variety of potential parentage. Often you will hear it referred to as barnyard mix or BYM. From fluffy cheeked Easter Eggers to sleek beautiful Olive Eggers, Feathered Footed Marans famous for dark chocolate eggs, to black as night Ayam Cemanis. Potential parental lines are endless. Any purebred chicks will be noted as such.

Potential Hens Chicks Come From

Our flock is made up of the following hens: Black Copper Marans, Rhode Island Reds, Red Sex Link, Golden Sex Link, Easter Egger, Turken, Speckled Sussex, Ameracana, Starlight Green Egger, Bielefelder, Buff Orpington, Olive Egger, Barred Rock, Creme Legbar, Welbar, Wyandotte, Black Australorp, and Polish.

Potential Roos Chicks Come From

Our Roos are a special part of our farm, not only do they keep peace among the hens, they protect them from potential predators. We don't keep or breed from any Roos with temperament issues. The breeds you will see on the farm are: Speckled Sussex, Barred Rock, Ayam Cemani, Easter Egger, Rhode Island Red, Blue Copper Marans, Black Copper Marans, Jersey Giant, Polish.

Our Market

At Rockin K Homestead, we're proud to have over 10 acres of Texas farmland, where we raise our animals. We use sustainable farming methods to ensure that our animals are healthy and free from harmful practices. Our farm is home to a variety of animals, including chickens, goats, and horses, which are raised in spacious and clean environments.

Our market offers a wide variety of hatching eggs, chicks, and pullets. Check out our FB page for current availability. We hatch from February to September each year.

Our Community

At Rockin K Homestead, we believe in supporting our local community here in Amarillo. We work closely with other producers to promote local sustainable breeding practices so you know you are getting the most healthy baby chicks out there. We offer educational presentations to classrooms to teach future generations where their food comes from. We also donate hatching eggs if requested.
